Since Dan opened The Marquardt Group, LLC, nearly 14 years ago, the company’s sweet spot has been mom-and-pop shops looking to make strategic investments to build their businesses and generational wealth.

The Marquardt Group represents landlords, tenant reps, buyers, and sellers in a variety of markets across NC in all asset classes, specializing in industrial, flex (warehouse with office), land, and office space. 

His business is not a numbers game. Instead, Dan builds trusting relationships with a few clients at a time and treats their money like it's his own. Their repeat business and referrals are a testament to his intentional approach to providing the best possible guidance and steering clear of self-serving deals. Dan always works in the best interest of his clients, even if it means waiting for the better option to come along or closing a deal at a later date. Clients call Dan a responsive, straightforward communicator, a skill he honed as a pilot many years ago.

Earlier in his career, Dan worked as an engineer in space propulsion and military jet engines for Pratt and Whitney. So he can say for sure that commercial real estate is not rocket science. However, it does require an understanding of the market, the ability to analyze financials, and significant networking to know the key players within the market or asset category. Dan credits his MBA (real estate and entrepreneurship concentration) from UNC’s Kenan Flagler Business School and plenty of experience for preparing him to meet such a wide variety of client needs. And he says his undergraduate mechanical engineering program at Purdue University taught him to be the systematic problem solver he is today.

Dan is a licensed NC real estate broker with a CCIM designation. While his focus is on the North Carolina market, the CCIM network enables him to help clients with commercial real estate needs in any area of the US. He has lived in Raleigh, NC, for over two decades and wouldn’t have it any other way. He and his family – wife Jessica and daughters Grace and Liz – love the Triangle, its community, and all it has to offer.
